ProCharged Time slips 2001
Bob's car is finally back together, and we've been slowly working on the tune, while Bob has been working on his driving tecniques. Mustang's car number was 7353. Tires were 28x10.5 MT ET drags. Boost was set at 14 psi. Temperature was about 70F. Fuel was 116 VP Racing fuel. Initial base timing was set at 10 degrees and the Interceptor was used to retard WOT timing 4 degrees. Rear gears are 3.27s and shifts were made at approximatly 5700 RPM.
At this point this was the car's fastest time to date, Bob (with a very big grin on his face) headed back down to the staging lanes to give it another shot.
Not bad as far as consistancy is concerned. This pass had a slightly better 60' but was just a touch slower for the remainder of the pass. At this point Bob was qualified and waited till the first round of eliminations.
Allright!!! Now that's getting somewhere! After talking to Bob, best we can figure is that he left softer out of the hole which helped keep the tires hooked. Hopefully he'll be able to repeat this in the future or maybe I can find someway to detune the car for launch. Either way I have a feeling that we will be seeing single digit passes out of Bob's ride as soon as the cooler fall air gets here...

Bob rolled through the burnout box with his D-1 procharged mustang and improved again!
Nice! He returned to the pits and I told him I wanted to remove 2 degrees of retard from the engine at max boost (add 2 degrees of timing) He said OK, but don’t blow it up, and walked away while making a couple comments about damn Sitar wanting to lean it out…..I grabbed the Interceptor and brought full boost timing up by two degrees.
Bob headed to the lanes again.
Bob said that that’s just right as he put his 10.00 dial
on the window….His car is still running only 14 psi of boost, all passes are
made through the mufflers, the car remains completely street legal and passes
PA state inspection.
